Athanasios Beroutsos

Athanasios Beroutsos was born in Baden, Switzerland, in 1969. He studied sculpture at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1991–1999) under Theodoros Papagiannis, with scholarships from the State Scholarships Foundation and an ERASMUS term at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. In 2003 he completed the postgraduate programme “Digital Arts” at the Athens School of Fine Arts.
His work moves between the material and the digital: sculptures in copper wire, paper and LED light, installations, video, 3D printing, virtual and augmented reality. The human figure, myth, the memory of place and the human being inside networks recur throughout.
He taught sculpture at the Department of Fine Arts and Art Sciences of the University of Ioannina (2007–2013) and since 2023 teaches sculpture at the Lifelong Learning Centre of the Municipality of Keratsini – Drapetsona. He has had eight solo exhibitions and has taken part in more than seventy group exhibitions, sculpture symposia and film productions. His works are in private collections and public spaces in Greece and abroad.
